Default Åstrand Å-OM Custom in Cocobolo and Swiss Spruce - Just gorgeous!

Hi guys,

Ted Åstrand just sent through this wonderful custom OM and I thought you'd like some pics and video. This was a custom TNAG build and I'm very grateful to my client for giving us the time to have it filmed and photographed. It's an absolutely sublime guitar.

We love the way Ted allows the natural beauty of the materials he uses to shine though. The Cocobolo rosette with the sapwood is nothing short of stunning.

The back of this guitar shows Cocobolo at its best, elegantly framed with Ebony bindings. Just mesmerising! The dark grain and "Spiderwebbing" are normally only found in the finest Brazilian Rosewood.

In the picture below you can see one of the custom options, a beautifully judged soundport. This port gives the player a more "3-D" experience without sacrificing passenger-side power and detail a delicate balance...

The 12th fret features a hand-carved Celtic 4-heart Knotwork inlay which stands out beautifully against the super-clean lines of the jet black Ebony fingerboard.

Another bespoke touch is this beautifully executed slotted headstock with a Cocobolo face plate and Ted's logo inlaid in Sterling Silver. While it's relatively rare to see a slot-head on a modern guitar, in this case it looks absolutely gorgeous! The Waverly keys with Ebony buttons keep the tuning rock solid too.

This guitar was a joy to record, extremely expressive and a superb example of the modern OM. Check it out in action below!

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about Ted's work or the process of ordering one of his guitars. I'm always happy to help!

I've always liked the look of Ted's guitars. I can't wait to actually play one in Santa Barbara. Thanks for posting the photos!

Very pretty. Don't like sound ports though.
