Like the OP when I chew I eschew conversation. You want to talk? Go right ahead, but don't expect any response from me until after I'm sated and satisfied.

A real expert at meal conversation is the wait staff that inquires "How is everything?"--------just as you take a bite, they aren't able to do anything about it anyway if it is less than satisfactory!

Anybody else?
Maybe this is the "dog" in you rok. I have a little Poodle/Bichon who will bite you if you interrupt her gustation.

I read somewhere that eating slowly, pausing between mouthfuls and even putting your knife and fork down between bites can speed weight loss.

Since reading that, I have watched fellow diners and notice that my very slim friends seem to adopt this style of eating.

Perhaps conversation between mouthfuls might have the same effect. Are talkers generally thinner or is this not good enough reason for talking whilst feeding?

How about that new diet where people talk about politics and religion during meals? I hear people can lose allot of weight that way. :-)
