I really enjoyed that game! Despite the final score Lundqvist really played well. Could have been worse.

Pens are currently sitting in the top wildcard spot, and only 2 points out of second place in the Division! The caveat is that the Pens have played more games than most of the other teams so "games in hand" is an issue that needs to play out before a true seeding can be established.

Pens are coming together. Crosby is heating up. Seems like one needs the other.

Crosby looks like a different player and the Pens look like a different team than in the first half of the season. Without a doubt as the captain goes, so goes the team.

I hate it when the Pens travel to the west coast. I'll never be able to stay up to watch the whole game.

Anyway, tonight it's the Penguins taking on the Ducks (insert avian joke here).
At least I'll be awake for the start of the game. Go Pens!!!

Pens lost.

Bruins beat Montreal. Boston's only 1 point back of Washington for 2nd place in the conference and they have 2 games in hand. The Pens are still 8th but have played more games then their piers.

Go Bruins!! They continue to be the hot team in the East.

Pens were down 3-1 at the end of the second period, but managed to pull within 4-3 with less than 2 minutes left in the game. For the most part I loved the way the Pens played- with energy! Tonight they take on the Kings. I'm hoping to stay awake to watch the game (didn't make it last night).

That's good to hear, Cat. OK to lose when you put in some effort. Not ok to lose when you're laying an egg (like many past Pens' games).

Bergeron got another hat trick tonight! Marchard had 3 more points. Bruins roll.

Let's hope the Pens do just as well tonight.

Congrats to the Bruins and especially Bergeron and Marchand. Those two are incredible players!!

Happy to report the Pens managed to beat the Kings 3-1 on the strength of goaltender Casey DeSmith's first NHL start! Matt Murray is away from the team right now due to the untimely death of his father, and DeSmith was called up to backup Tristan Jarry during Murray's absence. DeSmith was stellar! Pens were continued to play with the speed and energy that was lacking in the first half of the season.

Hockey Day in Canada is tomorrow (Sat). I'm going to miss it, I'm in Chicago . The CBC puts on some hockey stories and of course the games.

Unfortunately I only get a very few CBC broadcasts with my DirecTV package. I'd love to spend the day watching everything to do with Hockey Day In Canada. I bet Don Cherry even outdoes himself in sartorial splendor for the occasion.

Boston beat Montreal for the third time in eight days. Wow. Marchard with a couple of more points. He's 3rd in the league in points per game. If he hadn't been hurt he'd be around 3rd in scoring.

Sharks just took a 2-1 lead over the Pens in the 3rd. Come on boys.

Happy for the Bruins! They're on a mission. I really like the composition of that team with a mixture of youth and experience.

Pens lose 2-1. Both teams' goalies (DeSmith and Dell) were outstanding in this one. Sid had some glorious looks over the course of the game, but couldn't get one past Dell.
