Default My first Eastman electric on the way

I first played an Eastman El Rey electric maybe a year ago when my local Guitar Mart had a used one on the wall. I fell in love with it, just playing it acoustically, never plugged it in because I didn't want to have to buy it.

Fast forward... just grabbed one on ebay via auction, and it will be here at the end of this week or early next week.

Buying something without hearing it makes me nervous but at least I can change out the pickups if necessary. The thing I'm most excited about is having an electric with a 1.75" neck... after playing a ton of acoustic on my taylor and epiphone which both have the wider neck, I'm really looking forward to the real estate!

I also love the fact that it's a hollow body... I really need to have that resonance.

I didn't realize Eastman did electrics. Do they also do solid bodies?

Congrats! Looking forward to your review when you get it.

I think you will be pleased. I have a T386 (semihollow) that plays like butter and sounds great for just about everything. Not just a jazz box for sure. The 1 3/4 inch nut was my main selling point. The frets are also among the most comfortable I've played on.

Almost let it go not long ago due to brief GAS attack but so glad I didn't.

Extremely cool guitars.

I really wish Eastman would pursue more original designs like the El Rey, because it's clearly a winner and so much more interesting than their Benedetto-ish archtops.

I will indeed post one.

I don't believe they build solidbodies. They have a couple lines of semi-hollow and the el rey which are all fully hollow I believe.

I also want to buy one of their er-0 models if I ever found one at a good price...

Which incarnation of the El Rey did you end up with, Psalad?

That ER0 is too friggin' cool.

The ER3... seems to be voiced and built more for my style of music. I'm not a jazz guy.

Yea, I really love the ER0...
