Default Easy to play Pop Christian songs for beginner

Looking for some suggestions for some of todays "popular" Christian music that has relatively easy guitar accompaniment.

Thanks!

I'm fond of Every Move You Make ... an easy strummer that everyone loves. And of course, the ubiquitous Amazing Grace.

There are all kinds of instructional vids on YouTube from simple to complex.

Here's a few I'm fond of. Just check out their videos that are labeled "Tutorial" or "Instructional". They often include the charts.

"Bless the Lord" by Ken Canedo, Marc Cavallero, Kevin Roth, Dan Brennan is a nice one. You can listen to it here:

http://www.spiritandsong.com/compositions/64971

It's basically just G, C and D, with the exception of using Cadd9 for the intro and refrains. To sound like the recording, play the G and Cadd9 like this:

G 320033
Cadd9 X32033

anything on popular christian radio stations should be easy....not much creativity or groundbreaking stuff out there these days (on the radio anyway)

Try some chris tomlin stuff. MOst are only 3 or 4 chords and are easily strummed.

I find alot of contemporary Christian songs much more difficult to play than the old hymns - there are alot of timing and tempo variations.

Define 'today's'....

I find Brian Doerkson's songs quite easy to play and both Paul Baloche and Chris Tomlin write alot of their songs so that they are easy for congregational singing.

"I Can Only Imagine" is only three chords and sounds great with single guitar backing.

I like to play "Who Am I" by Casting Crowns. It uses a couple basic chords and has a cool easy melody line you can play on the high e string.

Our God by Chris Tomlin is only 4 chords and all down strums. I would also look at Because of Your Love by Phil Wickham. Again, that is only 4, maybe 5 chords and is all down strums.

Paul Baloche has a great youtube channel that teaches you alot of his songs and a whole bunch of stuff about worship leading. It's pretty good. I would also look at the jedimindless channel as posted earlier.

I agree with Chris Tomlin. Key is finding where he capos. He uses the same chord usually. Do a Google of the song with "Tomlin" and the word "tabs" and you will get sites that will give you the chords and usually where to capo. He is easy and also a fabulous Christian writer. I am currently in love with "Our God" wonder words and not that hard.

Jesus Mesiah and Our God are two very nice new songs that are easy to play.

My all-time favorite is "I Believe in You" - by Bob Dylan.
