Someone on The Gear Page wrote a pretty detailed review of his experience with this guitar. It was pretty favorable--too bad I'm not looking for a Tele.

If folks are complaining about the price now, imagine what one with a bender would cost. And if Fender just stuck on a Hipshot or a Parsons Green bender folks would whine it isn't what Brad uses ...

Probably best that it's not a pink paisley. As others have mentioned, those are pretty easily attained (in reissue form or from builders like Crook). With this, you could swap out the pickguard and few would even realize it's a sig model.

Complaints about MIM or relicing are not worth addressing at this point. I wonder if folks think they're treading new territory with comments like "Get your wear the old-fashioned way" or "I don't get relicing."

I've seen one already with a black pick guard and I will definitely at some point get one to switch back and forth.

By the way this a nicely worded and thoughtful response.

If I were going for a paisley Tele, I think I'd find the James Burton model. Blue and black with the Texas pickups.

Check out this G&L Will Ray Tribute (imported) Semi hollow with a bender. NOS from 2009 (not sure on dates, but this may be Korean built and not indonesian). https://reverb.com/item/304891-new-o...z3-semi-hollow

Again not hatin' on this one. I regularly check out the Songbook for the Play album from the library for chords and stuff. Big fan. I even regularly consider the Ritchie Blackmore MIM strat and own a MIM Jag. So I am in no way a hater of Brad or MIM Fenders.

I do think this would have been received better without the relic, maybe. At least by the internet reviewers. I think folks are trending away from the relic fad in hordes.

One thing that keeps coming to my mind is how Fender could open up a MIM Custom Shop or even a Chinese based Custom Shop.

I saw the Will Ray model and it's a long way off from a bender. It would not have been received well at all by my estimates. Although a very cool guitar it is.

Brilliant! Maybe not a full on custom shop, but colors, fingerboard, ash/alder, pickups, radius (and include a 12 inch option fender!!!!), etc.

Remember when Peavey had an online "spec out your guitar" thing back in the day? It wouldn't be hard at all...

I saw him in concert two years ago. He played about 3 songs on a Stratocaster, and the sound was somehow wrong. He is such a virtuoso, never seen anyone actually sprint and not miss a note in a fast solo. Suggest seeing him if you can.

I think Brad Paisley said it was a table top with a neck or something(The Telecaster).

Gotta say, I like the "fracturing" of the body finish. No blow torches or bangin' away with chains on this one!

You are correct it is chunky modified V about .95 or more at the first fret and transitions to a fat C about mid way up to the 12th. It has a really nice playability to it but does not have the rolled edges like a PV Telecaster. I like having that real estate north and south of the E's.

Yeah, it's a love or hate thing almost with the paint. There some nice checking on the neck as well.
