I put a kling pick guard. Dunlop .225 brass finger picks leave a mark.

CF guitars do scratch and while you can rub the scratches out you will reach a point where you rub through the surface. I use the super thin, clear, self-adhesive Mylar from Stewart-MacDonald (item # 3419). It takes a little time to cut out exactly what you want and you have to be careful in setting the guard, but it is very close to being unseen and it lasts.
