Default Line 6 Pod Go/Helix Settings for Acoustic

So I'm waiting on an LR Baggs venue preamp, but in the meantime, are there any Line 6/Helix multi FX users on acoustics? What settings do you use?

Here is a video I made back in the days when I was experimenting with the HX stomp

Please use GOOD HEADPHONES or monitoring speakers.

In this video, I show few presets I made with custom made IRs
1) Reference: External mic tone
2) 100% Piezo (Martin goldplus / Fishman Matrix)
3) 2048 pts IR with blend and parametric EQ to tame the 110Hz boom
4) 2048 pts IR in crossover configuration. The IR taking the role of the internal mic of a virtual "LR Baggs Anthem" pickup.
5) Totally different approach: EQ is heavily used (9 Parametrics + 1 Shelf filters) to shape the tone. IR is used just to tune phase shift and adjust the "feel & response". The idea is to get a clean & dry string tone more appropriate for LIVE use.

All the tones (except Reference mic) come from the HX Stomp XL and the piezo pickup.

The external mic is turned off everytime you hear the HX stomp XL presets.

0:27 Reference acoustic tone (external mic)
1:22 Piezo Pickup
2:39 HX stomp: IR + Blend (custom 2048pts IR)
4:18 HX stomp: IR + Crossover (custom 2048pts IR)
6:07 HX stomp: EQ + IR (custom 1024 pts IR)

Ive used my hx stomp for my wife's acoustic at some of our festival shows when I was not running sound. Below are some of the effects and settings I used.

Parametric EQ - Bass 120 Mid -(varied from 250-750 for cutting) treble - 6K-8k lowcut 80hz

Rochester comp - ratio- 3:1 attack 10ms release 100ms level 2.5 Thresh set by ear.

IR - (SigmaAudio) Since she used an anthem I rarely used IR's unless she was playing with a band and blended to piezo 100%, but If I did the IR blend set to 20% or lower

Dynamic room verb - decay -12s predly -10ms damp 3.7khz Diff. 50% Mrate - 3.3 Mix 17%

Basic "Gain" block found under "volume" - 2.2 for clean boost

I also sometimes used the studio tube preamp, looper, pitch or delay depending on the acoustic and use. She now owns a Boss AD-10 which sounds fantastic but if she did not have an anthem system I would get a Helix for the IR's.

Note that You don’t need to buy IRs. You can download for free on my website (see signature) or make them yourself (see signature too)
