The many faces of Lagrima
When my fingers are too tired from playing, what's left to do?
Listen.

Irina does a slightly different fingerings in bar 6 that's just wonderful. All great versions, but hers takes it for me.
I'll throw mine in too. Such a lovely piece. https://m.facebook.com/groups/jamoft...ibextid=Nif5oz |

I like the second one a lot, by Michael Chapdelaine. It seems like a personal statement like "This is how I feel right now" from someone who could play it a lot of ways.

Agree that Irina's version is stellar, among all the fines ones that Barry posted. Looks like she played it on Tarrega's first ever guitar, the 1864 Torres. 650mm scale, spruce top over flamed maple back and sides. Here's a pic: Nice guitar!

It's always nice to see and hear multiple interpretations of the same piece. And then, we managed to carry out our interpretation of this piece, feel it, know its history. It's a whole process that requires a lot of maturity. I'm starting but I hope to evolve and mature my process.

Nice assortment of interpretations.
Out of curiosity, I tried playing all of the videos simultaneously. I quickly shut my browser. |
