Thanks for the recommendations. I find my CA Legacy to be very dark sounding, so I was looking for some sparkle.

Have you tried D'Addario phosphor bronze? Personally, I find them way too bright, but I think there's something about the way I play that imparts a brighter tone (I've noticed my guitars sound a bit dark when other people play them). While I love John Pearse PBs, many people find them too dark and much prefer D'Addario's. Might be worth trying, if you haven't.

Thanks for the suggestion, Brian
I'll be sure to try the suggested strings when Steven's Vintage Performer arrives in a week's time

Hi Just_Chan!

I hesitated pulling the trigger on Steven's Vintage Performer and wish I hadn't. If you decide it's not what you had in mind, drop me a line. I'd be willing to buy it from you in an easy transaction.

I realize that's unlikely, but just wanted you to know. In the meantime, hope all goes well.

Greg

Talking

Hi Greg,
Sincere thanks for the very kind offer. Deeply appreciate it.

The reality is that there is hardly any Composite Acoustic guitars here in sunny Singapore, except for a single dealer who only brings in the CA Cargo to the far-east. Yes, imagine the many guitarists here who struggle with the muddy-sounds & guitar-maintenance in this constant hot-&-humid city-state (30 degC 90% humidity)

In any case, as a constant watcher on the other side of the globe, it has really been painstakingly process trying to collect these premium carbon-fiber guitars, as most sellers would not ship these overseas (maybe becos the cost of shipping is over 10x the cost of shipping within US)

By the way, Ps Tommy Nichol (htn) is selling his CA Vintage Performer currently. There is also another seller in Ottawa Canada selling his CA Vintage Performer too. You may wish to contact them to see how the sale goes, ya?

All my best wishes in your hunt. And remember, fastest fingers wins, ya?

just_chan, please let us know when you receive the CA. Maybe a group shot of the carbon fiber family?

Sure, Steven !
So sorry for the delayed response. Not easy to get the family to sit down together for a family photo, know? Too much downtime needed away from their musical performances, ya? Can't stop playing ;p

Looks great, just_Chan! Probably the best collection of carbon fiber guitars I've ever seen.

Glad you're enjoying the Vintage Legacy; they are amazing guitars!

Wink

Thanks, Steven.
And thanks for allowing me your wonderful CA Vintage-Performer
It's been particularly satisfying to enjoy these musical heirlooms, as it has really been painstakingly process trying to collect these premium carbon-fiber guitars, as most sellers would not ship these overseas.
Currently I've only a German-made carbon-fibre fan-fret guitar on my collectors list left. Unless the avant-garde luithers invent yet another cutting-edge technology breakthrough. In which case, I will need a longer sofa set for new "family"

My pleasure! I loved the fact you collect the instruments and have such a wealth of knowledge regarding their origin. It's very comforting knowing someone will be taking good care of her!

At less than a year and a half, hardly, though it's certainly a lot longer than most. It's not unusual for someone to be digging through our archives and post an update on a thread that's several years old. The fun part is seeing how many people will not notice that they are responding to questions or comments from several years back, at least until someone points it out.

Just part of life on an active, long established forum, I guess. Sometimes I look at revived old threads as old friends I haven't seen in a while!
