Default SOLD - Taylor 20th Anniversary XX-MC Grand Auditorium (1994)

I’m selling my XX-MC Grand Auditorium Taylor guitar. It was born 10/21/1994 and is #239 out of 250 made (stated on the label inside).

I found it a couple years ago in a glass display case at A Sharp Music in Renton, WA. I was there trying out some 514s and 714s and, just as I was leaving, saw this beauty and asked to play it. I went into their back room (quiet there) and A/B’d it with the a 514 and a 714. Honestly, there was no contest! The tone and playability was impeccable. I definitely believe what they say about the cedar/hog Taylors from the 1990’s and this one has opened up beautifully! Aside from the gorgeous fretboard inlays, I love the blue purfling inlay and the sheen from the lacquer finish.

This XX-MC was professionally set up by a certified Taylor luthier/repair about a year ago. It has never left my non-smoking, properly humidified home. It is in excellent condition. There are 3 very small dings on the back body’s edge, lower bout, the worst of which is 2 cm x 1 cm (last pic). The original Taylor case does have signs of wear – to include 1 broken latch.

This Taylor is truly a unique collector’s piece but, at the same time, is outstanding for what is essentially a 514. This model marked the introduction on the Grand Auditorium body for Taylor. This was also the last year Taylor used lacquer finishes.

$SOLD shipped (CONUS) and Paypal’d.

Here is an interesting article about the 20th Anniversary Grand Auditorium Taylors:

These are nice guitars. I once had an XX-RS that was my first really nice guitar. I always wanted the XX-MC foe a matching set. Yours looks like it is in great condition for a 20+ year old guitar.
