Wow....3 folks in this post alone waiting on Woodys from Emerald!! Add me to that list and the number is up to 4!!

Emerald really is killing it...mine is probably 4 months out...and I've got a few little tricks going on there.

Cheers ....

Does any of you have got a cocobolo rosewood or bubinga veneer on order? With the new CITES regulations taking place in Jan 2017, this could be an issue? Hopefully Emerald Guitars can shed some light when they're back.

I've read a thread about this in the General forum. I'm quite curious about it because I travel a number of times a year between Canada and the U.S. and hope I won't have a problem easily transporting a guitar. I hope Emerald will reply.

Are you still waiting for your coco-topped X20 and if so, is this why this CITES matter is a concern to you?

I believe the office folks at Emerald are on break over the holidays and returning 02 Jan 2017.

I may have a custom X20 built as well. I love my off-the-shelf one I bought used here on AGF. I think a thinner neck and maybe some fancy wood would be worth the wait. Love the tone.

You made me look, Todd. They are coming out with a "select series" of pre-made custom models each month in 2017. There could be some really interesting things appearing soon.

I certainly appreciate the beauty of the woodies, but I prefer to see the CF fabric on the guitar top - especially the green ones and amber ones.

My Chimaera is amber and although I've seen a lot of the wood-topped Emeralds, like you Earl, the carbon weave has remained my preference (also because I've held the view that I didn't want my cf guitars pretending to be wood).....that is until I saw that coco/heartwood X20. Now my lust for that wood top and none other, is strong.
