Saddle question
I replaced the strings on an Crafter I got from a friend. In the process, I figured I'd clean and polish it up a bit. When I flipped it over to do the back, however, the compensated saddle fell out. I know this sounds like a real dopey question, but... does it matter which way it goes in? Yeah, I know not to put it in upside-down. I'm talking which end goes to the top and which goes to the bottom.

For a right handed guitar, the taller end for the 6 string. The 2 string sits at the rear of the saddle, the 3 string at the front.

Have a close look at the top of the saddle - you should see little dents or notches where the strings pressed into it. That should be enough to give you a clue as to how it was oriented.
Low E makes fat notch, High E make little narrow nick. . . |
