Default GS Mini Mahogany and Martin 00-15m

I have no need for either and can't really afford either at the moment anyway. But I've had a bug for a hog top for quite some time. What are your thoughts on these two models (pros and cons of each). Or any other hog top models worth looking into? Thanks!

No contest. Different leagues. 00-15m all the way. And yes I have owned every 15 series, and I also own a GS Mini.

I strongly prefer my Guild GAD M20, now the M120, to my old Mini and the only hog Mini I ever tried.

How versatile is the GS Hog compared to the 00015? I love the idea of having a USA made Martin hog guitar but the 000 gets so muddy when strummed. Is the GS any better?

Couldn't agree more. You're comparing all-mahogany with sapele laminate back and sides. At half the price, the GS Mini fits a different niche.

Also look into the Eastmans. I was looking for a used Eastman E10-SS (J45 copy) and came across the E20-SS, its rosewood counterpart. It blew me away.
I am definitely afraid to try an Eastman E10-SS now, as I am afraid it will have to come home as soon as I do.

I preferred the short scale. Very different sounding guitars though. The Taylor is a lot brighter the Martin has got that mid-range sound. I owned a Guild GAD-M20E that I liked but the sound was muffled by the thick poly finish I felt. You got to play them because they all sound very different.
