9's are too loose for me, been playing 10's for 30 yrs. Ernie Ball Slinky's have been my main brand.

I switched over to 10-52s recently, with the 3 bottom strings top wrapped.
After trying everything from 10-46 to 11-49 and 12-52 in Eb, this seems to be the perfect combination.

I prefer 9's but I've got 10's on my Telecaster to compensate for the Bigsby.

I tried 11's once but it felt like I'd moved from guitar to bass territory. Also bigger strings might suite lead playing but I don't think they work as well for any sort of rhythm/strumming playing is my experience.

Subjective of course.

IMO, bigger strings might suit rhythm playing better because the chords will sound fatter. When it comes to soloing, don't expect to do Gilmour bends with 11's. I rather have 9's for lead playing that's for sure! Subjective is right!

I use .10s. I feel like the tonal difference between .09s and .10s is pretty significant, especially on Telecasters.

One day, I will own a lot of expensive guitars with the hopes of no one hearing me play them.
