I have settled on the Monels on my SWOMGT. Sounds great and lasts a long time. I too like the 1 3/4 nut.
When any of these guitars are described as bright, I say I can use a thinner pick, strum closer to the bridge, use a light fret touch and sound bright...else I can use a heavier pick, find a sweet spot to hit the strings, and use some palm muting and get a dark percussive sound. Oh and it's nice and loud. Had gold tuners on my Daion, never minded them. They patina with age and look much less obtrusive.
