Great song. I think Terry Allen might have written it. I heard it on his album anyway. He is a genius.

For years I thought "Willin'" was the ultimate truck driving song. That was until I heard Fred Eaglesmith play this one night.

Default Play me a truck song

I like Taj Mahal's take on the Dave Dudley song, "Six Days On The Road."

I was starting to worry that that one hadn't been mentioned yet! And agreed on it being a classic - was the second one I thought of after 'Convoy'.

Not one of my favorite Garth Brooks songs, but there's "Papa loved mama"

Yep, especially in the late 90s or early oughts. Live with the "One time, one time, one time" intro. Often used to close the show. Good times.

Richard Shindell is not the artist you would expect would have a great trucker song, but he does:

This is so cool. Never knew there were so many train songs!

Thanks for starting this thread.

"Luxury Liner", by Gram Parsons... either his version (International Submarine Band) or Emmy Lou Harris'...

There are some real chestnuts listed so far...

Another favorite of mine is a song written by Greg Leisz and Sherman Hayes, "Coffee To Go"... a great tune which I'm nearly certain that NO ONE on this Forum has heard...

Lowell George wrote a few tunes about trucks, along with "Willin'"... "Truck Stop Girl" is a good one...

"Truck Drivin Man" by just about everyone who ever put cowboy boots on and slung a guitar over their shoulder.

That's what I was going to say! You beat me to it.

"Truck Drivin' Man" was the first trucker song I ever played in public, but my all-time favorite has to be "Six Days On The Road."

Now I want another cup of coffee (it's the best in the land, you know)...but I wonder how much you have money to shove in the jukebox these days...

Remember the Simpsons episode when Homer had an 8 track of "Greatest Truckin' Songs: 1975-1975"?

Two more- Drivin' My Life Away-Eddie Rabbitt
Honeysuckle Rose-Hoyt Axton (actually about his tour bus)
