Great song. I think Terry Allen might have written it. I heard it on his album anyway. He is a genius.
For years I thought "Willin'" was the ultimate truck driving song. That was until I heard Fred Eaglesmith play this one night. |

Play me a truck song
I like Taj Mahal's take on the Dave Dudley song, "Six Days On The Road."

I was starting to worry that that one hadn't been mentioned yet! And agreed on it being a classic - was the second one I thought of after 'Convoy'.

Not one of my favorite Garth Brooks songs, but there's "Papa loved mama"

Yep, especially in the late 90s or early oughts. Live with the "One time, one time, one time" intro. Often used to close the show. Good times.

Richard Shindell is not the artist you would expect would have a great trucker song, but he does:

"Luxury Liner", by Gram Parsons... either his version (International Submarine Band) or Emmy Lou Harris'...
There are some real chestnuts listed so far... Another favorite of mine is a song written by Greg Leisz and Sherman Hayes, "Coffee To Go"... a great tune which I'm nearly certain that NO ONE on this Forum has heard... Lowell George wrote a few tunes about trucks, along with "Willin'"... "Truck Stop Girl" is a good one...

"Truck Drivin Man" by just about everyone who ever put cowboy boots on and slung a guitar over their shoulder.

"Truck Drivin' Man" was the first trucker song I ever played in public, but my all-time favorite has to be "Six Days On The Road." whm |
