Or, following some of the more humorous logic in this thread...never go tinkle.

Make sure your guitar is the LAST thing you take out for a gig and the FIRST thing you put away after a gig. Setting up for gigs is a common way to destroy a nice acoustic guitar. And, when you case it, make sure to stand the case on its side, or just lock it up somewhere safe.

Never use your guitar to defend yourself or others during a home invasion. Use a 1911 instead.

Never attempt to flip the guitar directly from the stand onto your lap using only your foot.

....Rest safe in the knowledge that whilst others may be better guitarists your guitar is as pristine as the day you bought it & that's the important thing.

Never raise it above your head, headstock up, under a moving ceiling fan! Yikes, it happened to me a few years ago. Minor scratches, not too bad, but how humiliating!

I always look up before I put a guitar on... low ceilings, ceiling fans, exposed pipes, lights... all manner of things that are higher than your head but not higher then the headstock of your guitar as the strap goes over your head.

Never pass your guitar to your mate like this.

Unless you have Bruce's bank balance.

never say never as it will happen someday.

How does one open a case with a latch latched?

Never slap your guitar unless you are actually playing it at the time, and only then if the blows form an integral part of the song.

Leave it in its case and never play it - safe as houses.
