Default Merrill OM-28 - SOLD

SOLD

I am offering my 2005 Merrill OM-28 for sale. This guitar sounds more like a vintage Martin than any newer guitar I have played. Incredible guitar. So good, in fact, that I bought it back after selling it a few years ago.

I originally purchased it around 2007 and it was last set up around 6 or 7 years ago. The setup hasn’t changed in all of that time. There are stories out there that Merrills aren’t stable because of the light builds. I know this to be true in a few instances, but it obviously does not apply to this guitar.

The specs are as follows:

1 3/4" neck at the nut
2 5/16" string spacing at the bridge
Adirondack spruce top
Honduran Rosewood back and sides
Brazilian Rosewood headstock overlay
Cloth side reinforcement strips

Mahogany neck block and tail block

Forward shifted X bracing
Small maple bridge plate

Ebony fingerboard and bridge

Antique elephant ivory nut & saddle
Comfortable slight v profile neck
Pure nitrocellulose lacquer finish (no undercoat)
Adjustable truss rod
Wonderful, traditional, woody sound

Hide Glue? I don't think Jim was using it in 2005, but I'm not sure. How heavy is it with the HRW? Does the price include shipping and pay pal expenses? Where are you based?
Thanks!

No hide glue.

It weighs 4 lb 4 oz.

The price includes PayPal, but not shipping.

Thank you,

This is definitely drool material! Nice honduran, as well. Perfectly quarter-sawn.

Thank you for your compliments and your trade offer, but the only trade I would be possibly be interested in would be for a rosewood Leo Posch guitar smaller than a dread, with cash coming my way.

Wow, this looks great.

It looks like remaining saddle is ample at 1/8" or thereabouts. What is the current low E and high e action at the 12th and also what is the relief currently?

To the poster's question above, I'm assuming fixed/non-adjustable ebony rod or similar. It looks like remaining saddle is ample at 1/8" or thereabouts. What is the current low E and high e action at the 12th and also what is the relief currently?
Will answer your questions when I get back to the studio in the next couple of hours.

The saddle height between the middle strings is 5/32". The high E is between 4/64" and 5/64", while the low E is 3/32". The neck relief is .006".
