Default If I were a Carpenter - Tim Hardin Cover

I probably heard this song dozens of times though the years.
But I NEVER once really 'listened' to it.

Today, something came over me to search it and I came across Tim Hardin live recording on Youtube. I never even knew Tim wrote it.

I learned the words in my car on the way home from work....Here is my first recording and tribute to a great song writer. He passed in Dec 1980 of a drug overdose at age 39.

Hey Jake,

I really enjoyed this, really nicely done.

Wouldn't you know, but I am listening to a bunch of Tim Hardin. Just recently discovered his music and, man, I love his stuff. I want to learn "Reason to Believe". I just love hearing him sing that song.

Nice one mate. I enjoyed that quite a bit. Like the space and time you gave it.

Thanks!
I appreciate the reply.

The "space and time" was actually me a little slow remembering the next line in the song's lyrics
But it did seem to add something nice to it..

I'm going to try this one again later.

Tim Hardin songs often benefit from that space and time thing mentioned above. Even if you were trying to remember a song or are feeling your way through it, it gives the effect of the words occurring to you as if you were thinking them. Nice job!

That "save my love from loneliness" bridge is just about a perfect set of words isn't it.

Nice job.

I used to spoof on that song by singing at my wife while I was working construction.

She was never amused.

One of your best Jake. You get such a big sound from your guitar and it really suits your vocals.

Bravo!
