Default People selling expensive guitars with no photos?

Rant Alert: Mods please delete if I'm just being grumpy and out of line.

It blows my mind... That people will post ads in the classifieds for nice guitars and not put a picture.

So they say..."Email me for picts" .. Then they take 2 days to reply with picts!

Today I saw an ad in our classified section. "I will post photos on Craig's list".

Really?

I guess everyone needs to vent now and again.

I'd be willing to bet that many folks will leave the ad pretty quickly and move on if a seller doesn't put much effort into selling. So it's their loss that they didn't effectively advertise.

Exactly! I realize not everyone is born to sell. But a photo IMO is essential and would open the door to a lot more (tire kickers) people.

We don't do that sort of thing... do we?

I also think it comes down to how badly they really want to sell their guitars. And I think you can identify who really wants to do so and who doesn't.

A doofus here in Australia listed on ebay 'guitar $4000.00'
Blurry photographs and absolutely no details.
No builder, no history, no condition .... nothing.
I had to ask for everything.
Turns out it's a custom handmade Irish guitar.
Could be a great buy ... or not.
He relisted again this week and added a little more detail but those pictures are still terrible.

I never understood it either you're selling a $4000 guitar and you're too lazy to post a picture of it I have passed on many of those opportunities. And I don't buy the .....I don't know how to post pics then I suggest you ask your nine-year-old neighbor kid he knows how to do it

I'm thinking a guy does that so he can tell his wife "Honey, I DID post the guitar for sale, but no one's buying right now..."

If I don't see pics...or at least a link to pics...I simply move on.

I think expensive guitars with no photos for sale is akin to the Make Me Move houses on Zillow,

He did say reluctant sale, so I'm suggesting that his wife has a lot to do with it.

BOT the advertising show how serious you are about selling something. If you don't put the effort in, you don't expect to sell it, end of story.
