After a nice break taking part in the SBAIC and wrapping up a few repairs I'm back in the saddle! Here I've glued the final block to complete the rim assembly. Next up is back bracing and starting the rosette process.

A subtle change I've made to the rosette for this build is to have the inlayed pieces grow in size rotating like a clock. I use scrap wood from the back & side set for each build to makes these pieces as well as the overlay and wood purfles.

Back braces glued and ready to carve.

The rim assembly is prepped and ready to have the kerfing/lining glued in place.

Rim assembly has been lined and the side struts are glued in. I made some gluing cauls for the triangular Basswood side struts that I use and they worked great!

Doing inlay work into soft woods such as spruce is no joke. Thankfully repetition is key as the process has gotten much easier with each guitar.

Here I've prepped the floating back brace so I can laminate a thin veneer on the top face using my vacuum table. I use leftover material usually from the side set so all the wood matches for each build. For me there is no such thing as scrap wood
