Dchristo,
Did this alter the sound any? I wanted to do the exact same with oak but was afraid it might make the sound a bit brighter - which I did not want.

By the way, these look beautiful. Curious, where did you get the black face on the panel for the lighter colored wood?

DeChristo,

You are setting yourself up for a second career with a product like that!!

Fantastic Job!

I just might do that to my Fishman Loudbox 100. Curly Maple here I come!

Love that look and I'm sure that the wood stands up to use.

My Performer's covering is falling apart while sitting still.

It's not the thin-ness of the material, but rather the soft-ness of it that makes it week. And it seems like it gets softer with age.

I'll probably replace mine with real tolex this winter. If an energy spurt coincides with a boredom spurt.

Great job Dave, I have been waiting for someone to try this.
I have been saving a piece of walnut, in the shop, just for this purpose.
Now that I know the sound is not affected, my new project starts tomorrow.

It is thin plastic and provides no real protection. Only useful as a dust cover.

Yeah, I have one of those covers for my "Artist" , it is something of a rip-off.
It cost about £40 and is made from the same stuff that they make the more durable, re-usable supermarket/Ikea bags from, the ones you have to pay 40 pence for.

I got the amp a year ago on a good "black Friday" deal. GREAT amp BTW.
I haven't ripped the covering yet, but then I have never taken it out of the house ... In fact it only gets moved from its spot occasionally, to clean the floor.

D-Christo dude, I saw your work in a previous thread and man they look awesome! I use four Loudbox amps in my work as a full-time musician and one is the Mini and I would love for it to look like that first pic! It would match my floors in my music room...you could make some coin making these Mini case mods and I would pay you to do mine! Guess you'd have a waiting list too! ...your workmanship is excellent!
