Sorry to hear Silly Moustache. The only thing I can suggest is to strongly believe in yourself and the team that is treating yourself. If it is worth anything, I have a client who had the same diagnosis and was treated 20 years ago. He is still here and going strong today.

May your mustache keep smiling.

Both my wife and I are cancer survivors. She; breast cancer and myself prostate. My wife has been cancer free since 1994 and I have been cancer free since 2004.

Following the guidance and counsel of the Doctors combined with positive attitude are the two most important things you can do to become a survivor.

A cancer diagnosis is very difficult. Trust in your team, you will meet some amazing people in your journey. Things do improve with time.

I am sorry to hear your news. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, Silly. I always enjoy your posts so this makes me sad that you're going through this. I wish you the best through treatment and recovery. It is good to hear from those who have gone through something similar many years ago.

Hang in there mate!

We've lived with all sorts of medical conditions over the years and, when my wife was diagnosed with cervical cancer a few years back, we both laughed and said, "Haven't tried that one yet". Doctor was rather non-plussed, however, as he got to know us, he knew our attitude. Always go in with the idea that you are going to prove the doctors wrong. If the doc says months recovery, aim for 6, if you get over it in 9 months, you've still beaten him. However, don't let it get you down.

I'll be continuing to pray for you.

Silly, I don't know you other then from the forum. so, I have the web to thank for making a small world smaller.

Sorry to hear of your medical worries, as I have some of my own and know what a drain on ones senses they can be.

I kinda sense your position on forum taboo, but it will not stop me from putting you into my prayers.

Have a great day...

I'm new here so you won't know me, but I'm sorry to read about this. I understand the shock and the confusion - I was in much the same position five years ago, and it was very scary. I found the only solution (for me) was to say 'OK, this must be lived with' and just get on with the unpleasant treatment, while at the same time taking every opportunity for distraction and fun - trying to make the enjoyment of today more important than worrying about tomorrow.

Good luck. And take heart - the guys treating you really know what they're doing.

Just saw this thread this morning. A kick in the guts, but you have great spirit. Sending good vibes your way for the best outcome.

Frustration. Hoped for an appointment to find out my fate on Friday 27th. No letter, so I rang them on the 26th. They got me an appointment on the3rd Feb.

Went out to the theatre and a meal Thursday night - came home to a phone call cancelling the next morning's appointment.
Histology delays apparently.

Now it is next Friday 10th Feb. Things getting more difficult swallowing challenging, and two weeks wasted.

Bit frustrated.
