I never knew a simple rig could be so complicated! Angus content
It's still SG into Marshall... But...
The big takeaway for me is Stevie (and Malcolm did too) is using 12s with a wound G! Malcolm has always been my favorite Rock rhythm guitarist, and now his tone makes a little more sense!

Wow, thanks for posting! I just watched the first 24 minutes, which is Angus' gear. Fairly basic stuff, SGs into Marshalls. Great that they discussed details like how he rides the volume knob, picks, strings, amp settings, etc.
Gotta love Angus' tone, so raw and powerful. |

I've been planning to build a Schaffer Diversity preamp for a while. He and Malcolm used them for some time (as did Gilmour and Van Halen). Angus seems to prize their tone considerably.

What exactly does the schaffer do? I didn't really understand that part. Is it used as a preamp for the wireless?

That was a lot of fun to watch. It must be an incredible thrill to play through something like that.

When I first saw the Schaeffer Replica I had the weirdest case of dejavu. It turns out that starting in 1981 I used Vega Diversity systems for microphones for years. I never liked the sound of their compander circuit on a mic. I would never have imagined that the system would become a high-regarded part of the guitar signal chain.

I was more pleased to see that Garth Algar landed on his feet after Wayne's World ended as a guitar tech!
