You know, it came to me, while I was cruising the site tonight, that the thing about the tone of the PL1 is that it reminds me of Dave Rawlings Epiphone. Not so much that it sounds exactly like it but that it has it's own idiosyncratic tone going on, like that Epiphone does. It's different but good. Can't wait to see and hear this new one when it's completed.

Patch is still working the finish on my PL1. The burgundy is going to give an nice old school look. I'm lovin' it.

My PL1 is finally finished. Patch put her first set of new strings on and sent me this video so I could hear how she sounds. To my ears, she's sweet and full of mojo. Can't wait to play her myself.

Built-in mojo in spades. You're gonna love that one - if not, ship it here!

No, I didn't even know he was working on a burst. I think I'd have still gone with the burgundy though. I think it fits the old school mojo of the instrument. I'm anxious to get my hands on her.

Just found this thread. Yeah, what happened? It also reminded me of the guitar played by Dave Rawlings.

Hi, I thought I’d chime in here. The PL1 wasn’t a good fit for Jim, so I gave him a full refund. All friendly and happy.
If you haven’t seen it there is a great video of Justin Johnson unboxing his and giving it a review. I couldn't figure out how to post it for some reason so here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beK3s32-kS4&t=894s I don’t like name dropping but I’m pretty excited about this so I’m gonna, on Friday I’m sending a PL1 to Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam. I’ve been a fan of his since their first album so I’m over the moon about it. If you are coming to NAMM this year find me at the Boutique Guitar Showcase, I'll have a few PL1s there. Here’s a couple more videos…

Thanks Patch. Good to get closure on this thread. And more eye candy of the PL1 in video form.
