Default 1947 Gibson LG-2

This was given to me by a family member and was purchased brand new back in 1947 by my great grandfather. The only number I can locate on it is inside on the neck "3225" Feel free to ask all the questions you'd like, i'll answer them the best I can. If you would like to see the guitar in person feel free to contact me on here with a name and number. I have played the guitar and it does have great low tones that you would expect from a Gibson.
If you would like specific pictures of anything just let me know and I can snap more photos.
On the back of the guitar there is a very small crack on the seam. I would probably get it fixed before it got any worse to prolong the life of the guitar but it does not effect the sound what so ever, it sounds very nice if you ask me.
Overall for a guitar that's pushing 66 years old it's in pretty good shape. Much nicer then the few i've seen on Ebay.

I'm asking $2200 OBO
Located in Northern California.

Nice looking guitar at a very fair looking price. Do you have any photos from the side showing where the neck joins the body and the string action?

Also I'd suggest removing that old strap so it doesn't create wear issues...although I suppose it's had many years to do that already.

Thanks. Would you also mind taking a cleaner shot of the front of the peg head? Much appreciated!

Hard getting a shot of the action on the strings. Where the neck attachs to the body there's no stress marks/cracks or any damage.

Thanks for taking the time to post the additional photos. Very helpful seeing the neck connection. Tough to tell string height with no gauge and cant see how much saddle is left. Id' say this is no older than a 1948 based on the block Gibson logo. I think the 1947s still had the script logo but I'm not a Gibson expert.

the action's not 100% accurate as well because the bridge has cracked and fallen forward, which would need to be replaced... easy cheap fix.

yea sounds odd huh? selling my great grandfathers guitar but the way i look at it, i'll get more enjoyment out of another guitar and we weren't very close... I actually have a cheap pawn shop yamaha that my grandfather passed along to me about 15 years ago (different grandfather)... i play this guitar more than any of my others and its very special to me. i've had people offer me double and triple what it's worth and i turned it down.. THAT is one of those guitar i would never sale.

this is just one of those guitars that i aquired from a family member, no centimental value

So shoot me some offers!

Where are you located? And, can you post a close up pic of the bridge and saddle? Any cracks?

sfden1 I am located near Yuba City California about 25 miles north of Sacramento.

There is a slight crack on the seam back of the body but it's very slight not a large crack/seam split.

Let me get a picture of the bridge/saddle so you can see what i'm talking about, it looks like it just needs a new bridge because it has fallen forward due to force of the strings pushing down on it and age/wear.

Looking at it closer the bridge has a small crack on the right side if you look at the picture you can see it. On the bottom.

Your more than welcome to come see it in person.
