Default Acoustic Guitar Suggestions (*please read criteria first)

- no Seagull, Godin, Ovation, Rainsong, Mitchell (just not my style)
- Budget is $1500 and under (all in)
- Playing style is fingerpicking/strum blend mainly focused around folk, country, soul, reggae.
- I play medium strong, use finger tip rather than picks/nails, and don't like too bright or too mellow.
- Mostly for accompany my singing in plugged/mic'd and unplugged scenarios
- specific models pls
- size from 000 to Jumbo
- with or without electronics/cutaway (but looking for solid sound plugged and unplugged)
- no black or other color guitars pls (mild sunburst ok)
- new or used (but used is hard to find locally for me)
- no boutique guitars pls
- no bells and whistles that add to the cost and sacrifice on quality/sound

Thanks in advance

With no information about your playing style or tone preference, it's hard to offer suggestions. From what you've posted, I could suggest Taylor, Martin or Gibson, because they're apparently all the same to you.

Provide a bit more info and you'll get plenty of useful suggestions.

Size between a 000 and a Jumbo means a Dread....

Within those criteria....
New $1,500 Martin, Taylor, Gibson or Guild dread. Pick your specific model based on what you want..

Used - $1,500 wil get you a J-45, D-18, or Taylor 510...

For me personally - I would do used as you can get a lot more guitar for the money..
I would take a used D-18 over a new 15 series Martin.. But that's me....

I agree...look used, Martin D-18 or Taylor 510 or 514. Take a look in the classified section here - many deals to be had.

Not knowing your approach and taste, I'd recommend finding the best pre owned Dred or OM sized Martin, Taylor or Larrivee that you can.

If you could get a Martin 000-18 or Taylor 414 or Larrivee L series, I think you'd be happy. They are all excellent and all have their own tone

It's hard to find good used guitars where I am, and I'm not so comfortable buying used from away because I prefer to test it out in-person with an expert buddy of mine.
What other store-order guitars might you suggest? Thx
