Good bump,

I've been upgrading my electronics and my next step is quality speakers. From other threads that exalt the qualities of the QSC k series, I'm a bit surprised that I didn't find any post in this thread where live performers are using them. I realize that this thread is an archived thread and that equipment preferences change over time.

Back on topic:

My live setup is

Guitar - 1975 Tak F340s w/K&K pwm, Tak EF 339s w/Tak electronics

Amp - Genz Benz Shenandoah 85

Mixer - Zed 10FX

Speakers - Harbinger APS 12 (this is what I'm upgrading)

Mic - Shure 58s

Pedal Board - PADI -> Volume pedal -> tc electronics HOF reverb ->Boss Blues pedal -> Digitech Chorus -> Jamman Solo Looper w/aux pedal.

Just so that nobody is misled by VERY old information, this thread was started in 2005. Looking at some of the older posts could very well lead an unsuspecting member down the wrong path.

So, make sure you look at the date of the post before you take it as current information.

I've added to this:

A Wampler Ego compressor is first in line and then into the TC harmony pedal. Next in line, I use a Road Rage true bypass 4-switch selector that has a Way Huge Pork Loin, an EHX POG 2, A Source Audio Programmable EQ and an Akai HeadRush (that I use for delay) connected to it.

The bypass switch runs out to a Fishman Loudbox Artist. One channel of the vocal line from the TC Helicon GXT goes to the second channel of the Loudbox, the other straight to the mixer. I run separate DI outs from the Loudbox to the mixer.

The aux out of the Zed feeds my Stereo Jamman. This allows me to control the looper feeds from the mixer which sits beside me. The Jamman then feeds one of the stereo channels on the Zed. I use the record out on the Zed to run the looper channel on the mixer back to the aux in on the Loudbox so that I can hear the loops clearly on the Loudbox (it functions as my monitor).

I've also changed my vocal mic to a Heil PR35.

I also use some Boss pedals to control an AirTurn BT-105 which flips the pages on my iPad; I use unrealBook for set lists and cheat sheets.

Everything is mounted on a Pedaltrain 3 and fed power via a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2.

It sounds crazy, but I can setup everything in about 15-20 minutes and it allows mw to create a lot of different noises. I can go from a simple arrangement of something like Seger's Night Moves to a percussion loop and bassline driven arrangement of Stevie Wonder's Master Blaster. It allows me to have some fun and usually the audience does as well.

Mike

Fairly simple.

For guitar, it's my J-45 with an L.R. Baggs M80, run through a Baggs Venue DI.

For vocals, it's an AKG D5 mic, run through a TC Helicon Mic Mechanic.

I am interested in seeing reviews of the new Fishman Platinum Pro EQ Analog box, due to it being analog and the fact that it has a built-in, adjustable, compressor.

I've become way simple in my more seasoned gigging years

Guitars:
'14 Martin D18 with LR Baggs M1A
'12 Takamine Kenny Chesney Sig with CT4BII
'98 Lowden LSE II with Fishman Prefix

Mic'd with Shure SM57a Beta

Run thru:
Fishman Loudbox Artist as main
Fishman Loudbox Mini as backup

Effects: my two hands! ...and a a pair of Raybans...

Taylor T5 > Ernie a Ball Volume pedal > Fractal Audio Axe FX Ultra> Yamaha MG series Mixer> Alto 112 800w speakers. The Ultra is controlled by a Voodoo Lab Ground Control Pro. In addition to the T5, I have the Ultra set up to accommodate a Fender Electric Mandocaster, and a Warwick semi-hollow body bass. I play in a duo and use a variety of effects within the Ultra to change the tonal palette of our songs. Now that I read this, I'm not so sure I'm "acoustic" anymore! Lol!

No muss, no fuss, great sound!

Starting just this summer . . . . one of three acoustics to Behringer mixer to Bose L1C. Thrilled with the setup and the sound. I also keep my old PA in the wings in case I want to boost things. So far, it's been unnecessary.

Great zombie thread.

I have either a Fishman Rare Earth single coil, Lawrence sound hole, or Seymour Duncan Woodie pickup going into a Genz Benz Shenendoh with an Eventide Space and Modfactor in the effects loop. The whole thing goes direct out into the house. Sounds good to me. This is for solo fingerpicking. I play with a drummer sometimes with the same rig. No bands.
