Hi Jeff...
It looks like a lot of fun to play with some very capable players. Nice job on your playing in the videos you have posted...

Interesting to see you with something 'conventional' in your hands. Are you going to be at Healdsburg this summer?

How cool is that??!!!! Sounded really good!

As Larry said, interesting to see you with a conventional six-string guitar. How did you meet Michael?

very cool....I've been a fan of Michael's since I first heard "Breakfast in the Field" Saw him live several times with Anger/Higbie/Marshall and Hedges at different times. Very cool to share the stage with someone so well known!!

Thanks, folks!

I met Michael through my mentor and good friend Alex de Grassi when we all played a show together up in Mammoth. At that time I was totally star struck in Michael's presence, being such a huge fan of Hedges... also, I had JUST come-in 2nd in a contest earlier that year on rootwitch.com (Andy McKee came in first) to see who could play with Michael on his tour. Ironic, eh?

Anyway, after meeting Michael and sharing some time and stories with him and his wife, staying in touch online, etc. we became friends and eventually he played in the studio on "Just A Position" for my album Wood Dragon. We've been playing shows every summer since... including this one where it will be Alex, Michael and myself together. (yes, I'm still star struck... can't wait!)

7 of my 12 tunes on my album are "sans Oracle". I guess I should post videos of some other stuff... just so people don't think I'm a poser.

I'd love to come to Healdsburg... last time I was there Don Alder and I wore our fingers out playing a bunch of mini-concerts. (8 each as I remember)

I'll certainly stop by if I'm in town so I can look for another new 6. It's time! Healdsburg is pretty close, afterall.

Hi Jeff...
There was certainly no intent to call you a poser with a 6string in your hand...& it's obvious you are not a stranger to it.

I'd love to see you in some mini-concerts at Healdsburg - spent a great deal of time hanging out there in 2005. Awesome players on awesome instruments - dy-no-mite combination.

Off topic - what do you use as a pickup/preamp for the Oracle??

RMC pickups http://rmcpickup.com/products.html for the sub-bass (Bass Excellence) and standard top strings (Acoustic Gold) plus a custom-built piezo jawari bridge for the 12 sympathetic strings (originally made by Rick Turner, then Fred Carlson made his own "super low-noise" version).

The pre-amp for each set of 6 pickups is the RMC Poly-Drive II. This can be a little bit cumbersome on stage, but it's worth not having anything extra "inside" the guitar. All I can say is that these pickups are amazing... hot signal, low noise, excellent attack and tone... plus, they're midi-capable!

Just really, really fantastic! Lovely song, and what inspiring playing - that's great music.

What a nice compliment... thanks! I'm walking on a cloud... and no, not because it's "4/20".
