Default D15M or the new D15m Streetmaster

Looking to add a D15 and saw the new streetmaster on line. Thought about the relic look or go for the last year model? I think its mostly looks being the only difference between the two.

Personal preference. Same guitar different cosmetics. I like the relic look.

I may be wrong but I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Streetmaster is more expensive and doesn't include a hard case?

I heard a soft case, but will upgrade it.

But the cheaper D-15 does come with a hard case?

4 years from now you might be like "what was I thinking" if you go relic. Just a thought. Like that tattoo you and all your friends got when you were 19 and 40 years later you cover it up every chance you get......

As one who just pulled the trigger on a D-15M last week, I didn't give any consideration to the Streetmaster. It looks kind of cool but it strikes me as very gimmicky and like one earlier post said, one might regret it in the future.

I'll add my own mojo with the passage of time, and probably not oddly on the headstock.

I just picked up a Streetmaster today. I played a bunch of versions of 00-15 d-15m, etc and this streetmaster in particular spoke to me. Warm tomes with plenty of projection and very easy to play. I could not put it down. I did get mine with a hard case from my local shop as a courtesy because as they said themselves "it does not make any sense to offer this with a gig bag, other than to hit a certain price point"

The pictures do not do it justice, it does not look as gimmicky as you would think in person. I can however see how it would not be for everyone.

I saw and played one recently. It looked kind of cool and sounded good. It looked like a new guitar which was obviously finished to look relic. The finish felt as smooth as a new one. One good thing is that one needn't worry about scratching it up!

I remember when the "Road Worn" Fender Stratocasters and Teles first came out and everyone, including me, roundly denounced the "fake mojo" cosmetics. It turned out that they were some of the best players Fender had made in years, the Tele in particular. They had really lightweight bodies and tons of tone. Who knows? The Streetmaster may be a dark horse, too.
