My Boucher is getting "Pleked".
I just dropped off my Boucher OM with my Luthier for a Plek job! Not that there is a problem per se with the guitar but I am always in some form of Alt tuning and after talking to my Luthier, an improvement from this visit is pretty much a certainty.
Now, my Luthier owns one of just four Pleks in Canada. He is also a contractor on Plek work (he's off to Houston TX next week to train a new buyer) so he knows what he's doing. He also never undertakes a project unless he is confident an improvement will result. Furthermore, Linda Manzer suggested to me I try this as she calls it "magic". All this to say that I look forward to feeling and hearing what the difference will be after a visit into this complex machine. Last edited by Daniel Grenier; 02-02-2024 at 10:36 AM. |

Looking forward to your thoughts, *after* the plek process.
I wonder where in Houston, as that's where I now live after moving from Toronto?

Hope you like the result.
Whether done by a human or a human programmed machine, a good set up is well worth doing. |

No idea where in Houston but Plek has the name and country of Plek owners on their website so you may find that there if you're interested.

OP here. I just picked up my Boucher after it got "PLEKed". I am impressed by what that did to my guitar! Perfect setup, spot-on intonation, incredible action, etc ... He PLEKed it in/for DADGAD and installed a new set Elixir Nanoweb HD (0.13-0.53). I just love how the guitar feels and sounds right now. $325cdn (~$240usd) well spent indeed.
THANK YOU, Ian Weston! |

Glad to hear that! From what I understand, operator training and savvy is a very important part of the process and it looks like you found a winner,
