Les Paul Standard, 50s or 60s neck?
After going back and forth for over a year, I have been looking for a good electric and am partial to the Les Paul Standard SE. I haven't seen any in town but have found them on the web. As a confirmed acoustic dread picker, I am concerned about the necks. Would you recommend the rounder 50s or the slimmer 60s?

I like the 50s necks.
It's all preference....

Here's another vote for the 50's profile on a Les Paul.

I play an LP Classic with the slim profile 60's neck. I love the slimmer neck as it just feels good all over. Even though they call it slim, it still has a nice touch of "beefiness" to it when you compare it to something like a PRS wide thin. Play the different profiles and decide which is the best fit for you. You can get opinions here all day long and still not be sure of which is the right choice for you. Good luck.

Jeez.....
If there's any single thing you have to choose for yourself, it's neck profile. If everybody says "...sixties slim for sure...." and you like a club neck, you gonna go with the crowd, or what your hands and soul tell you? One has to stand up and walk on one's own when it comes to certain things. Peace, Doc |

Take Doc's prescription straight to the drugstore (musicstore) and get it filled!
