Gibson solid formed archtop
Any thoughts on the Gibson solid formed archtop for 6K??Pressed top,and back,cheap pickguard, a lot of money for such a guitar.

$1500 for the guitar, $5000 for the Gibson name on the peghead...

Agree with Steve.
The specs are identical to those of cheaply made and weak sounding guitars all the way from the 1930's to the present, but they present those specs with lots of fancy new words and spin to make it more expensive. Having said that, I'd really like to play one! Either to confirm my biases or perhaps to be shocked and amazed at how good they are. But given that you can buy a used or vintage carved top guitar for thousands less, it still wouldn't be a good deal. |
