Flying fret hand pinky disease....
Yeah, I got this. If I play 4 note chromatic scales from string to string my pinky flips up after it releases as if it has to get out of the way of something. Anyone else experience this?

I actually tried taping my pinky to my ring finger once, lol. I do a few minutes of hard arduous intensive focus on making it stay down by going very slow and concentrating when I notice it.
Give me 20 years and I'll have it behaving. Because I'll be dead.

I'm the guy who started the last post. I have been making progress taming my own flyaway pinkie, mostly by being conscious about it and watching videos of other people not doing it and really wanting to not do it.
I've got real small hands, a really small pinkie, and a guitar with a fairly wide neck (Collings CJ35), so that makes it challenging but nonetheless progress has been made. Slowing way down really helps, as does thinking about keeping my pinkie near my ring finger. Also thinking about "curving" my pinkie kinda like what a piano teach would tell you about how to hold your hand on a keyboard. In other words focusing on pointing it down rather than letting it fly up. And then working on moving my ring finger up and down independent of my pinkie. Hope that helps. But desire is really the biggest thing.

I recommend hammer-on and pull-off exercises for pinky independence.
2h5p2h5p2h5p2.....etc 2h3h5p2h3h5p2...etc The second one can take a while to get the speed up. The hard part is lifting the second finger off the third fret just before the pinky pulls off the fifth, but that's the very type of exercise that should develop the control you seek. Good luck taming that pinky!
