Default NGD Rainsong

I guess I too am now an official member of this special subset of the ACF. Hello CFers! Special thanks for JerryM for helping me decide on the Rainsong Shorty as my first CF guitar and thanks to Ted and Helene at LA Guitar Sales who were great to work with. I had some slight adjustments made as described by Jerry in one of his posts here. Its fun and super comfortable to play. I think I have my perfect leave-out-of-the-case and travel guitar!

Welcome to the Dark Side. Very convincing group here. I came aboard about a month ago when I got a Rainsong H-OM.

Some folks will tell you that carbon fiber guitars have a "bright" sound to them... while we know, like wood guitars, the different manufacturers and models all have a different sound... nothing "dark" about it: welcome to the bright side!!

Congrats on your new guitar!

Thanks for enabling and for the kind words. The technician at the shop said, "it sure plays real nice. And its gonna just stay like this, thats so awesome." Kind of sums it up doesn't it?

subliminal message warning
Congrats!(can't spell the full word)
Wonderful tone/sound and sustain. (like that's not subjective)
Excellent decision! (broad brush comment)
Now let the string experimentation begin. (martin retro 12-52)

I sometimes give the AGF a rest for a few months and when I most recently returned I discovered frequent contributor Ted of LA GS appears missing in action. Is there a backstory?

Jon;

There's always a backstory--what it is aint exactly clear. It seems to be a private matter and maybe better left alone. That's the perspective I'm taking.

I read newspapers for attitude, conflict and disruption--I show up on this forum on a daily basis for the information and wit.

By the way, I'm always glad when you show up. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Hey so glad your happy with the RS, same one I have my third actually, and it sounds nice! Close your eyes and you can't tell it's CF on a recording, Al at Dream Guitars proved that one in his comparison. You will learn to love it even more as you get used to it, great Bluegrass, Fiddle tune flat pick box!

Evan, I think you have the start of some good lyrics there! And, a good perspective.

Good to see you here again, Jon.

The Shorty was my gateway drug of choice too, now I have 3 CF and have sold 1 as well. Also sporting SCGC strings on my Shorty at the moment. Congrats and enjoy!
