Had to jump in here and say how good that was Eric.
Everything just worked!
Guitar & amps sounded terrific and your performance was great (short of the renegade seagull).
Well done.

The Tonewood and 3 AA batteries are going to let me get used to an affected sound.
That D-18 sure does sound nice with your sweet little adlibs rollin' the notes on a fair wind (I looked at some of your YouTube videos). Roll on in good health.

It seems our (college) teams are hookin' up again; Noles and the Wolverines to get into the Final Four.
Yo Naboz,

* Thanks for the kind props buddy! ...hopefully you'll get a nice balance with the Neo-D, you gettin' the single coil version? Let me know your thoughts after you play it awhile.

** And yes tonite is a big game; I was stoked we got by Xavier & Gonzaga, because we never get this far. I'm not a L. Hamilton fan, we just don't score a lot, but now it's on. My gig was early afternoon, so I get the rest of nite off, YEAH!! Enjoy the game bud

From all the soundhole pickups I have had/ used- my experience in Taylors is:
#1 hands down- Sunrise - it really is the best all around and it is passive.
#2- Baggs M80- a really good multi source sound since it picks up body vibrations along with good string articulation
#3- Fishman Rare Earth humbucker- a good straight forward option with consistent good sound.
#4- Maggs M1- a very good and dependable passive pickup that gets the job done.

I would also seriously look at the DiMarzio Angel pickups and the Duncan Mag-Mic pickup. The MagMic really seems attractive to me because of the internal mic option to blend in, similar to the Fishman RE Blend that has the gooseneck adjustable mic.
I amp all of these with either Fishman LB Performer/Artist or AER Compac6 60-2. IF needed I supplement with a K8.

The real upside is no issue of piezo distortion- some people complain mag pickups sound too electric and I respect that. To me though, my guitar sounds very natural with the Sunrise and the M80 which I am currently using.

+1...I totally agree, as is evident from my video I posted running direct into my Loudbox Performer as well as an Artist too. Sounds like we have similar taste David! btw...the M80 records very well as I've done some sessions for other artists CD's with it in my D-18.

I have also used all of the above Soundhole pickups - and in my opinion, the DiMarzio Black Angel is the best of the best.

Do you really want to go down the money pit sinkhole?

We'll have you buying dual pickup systems, thousand dollar pre amps, and QSC speakers in no time. Then you'll have to upgrade your guitar.

I switched from the Fishman Neo-D humbucker to the DiMarzio Passive Angel humbucker (DP230) in my Martin 000-15, and I could not be happier. Highly recommended.
