If it weren't for these people crossing on a "do not cross" symbol, the cam driver could have been T-boned by a large box truck who ran the red light (and the truck barely missed the other car further over).

I have seen a crash happen just like this. Two people died. Impaired driver who caused it survived. Life is fragile, indeed.
