Default SOLD!! - Kinnaird Sitka/Red Eucalyptus OM

***I offered this guitar for a limited time in the fall. At one point I had a pending deal, but ultimately that fell through. I am now trying again for the AGF before posting it on other sale sites. Because I would like this to go specifically to an AGF user, I am lowering the price and would be willing to hear reasonable offers. Thanks for taking a second look at this guitar!***

I'm offering here a special guitar for me. Steve Kinnaird hired me back in 2007 - mainly to work as a repairman - but quickly I transitioned into a helper in production. These days I still do the bulk of the repair work, and we split the building pretty much down the middle. Over the years, I have only built two guitars from start to finish without Steve. I own my first, and JR (owner of AGF) bought my second at the 2011 Healdsburg Festival. This guitar is my 100th guitar I have been a part of making, and it is also my third solo build.

To do something special for my #3/100, I got members of the AGF to vote on nearly every aspect of the build. Maybe shockingly, they designed a fabulous instrument that looks amazing and sounds even better. I would like to take some credit, but surely all success is due to the AGF. This is why I have chosen to offer it here first at an exclusive price to AGFers.

The guitar has a Sitka spruce top of wood from Idaho and back and sides of Red Eucalyptus (Red Gum) from Australia. The guitar is deeper than a standard OM, but it has a Manzer wedge that makes it feel like a smaller instrument with all the punch of a deeper one. Southern Cross peghead inlay and Ayers Rock 12th fret inlay were chosen by AGFers to give a Down Under theme to the instrument. The guitar was demonstrated at the recent GAL convention by Grammy award winning guitarist Mark Hanson who said that among many fine instruments it had "something special."

Thanks for taking the time to look at my collaboration with the AGF. I am pleased with it completely, and I believe you would be too. I will be offering it (originally $xxxx) exclusively here for $XXXX. The price reflects a 20% discount to the AGF, and it comes with a TKL case and a limited lifetime warranty. Buyer pays shipping.

Kinnaird (Middlebrook) OM
Sitka Spruce • Red Eucalyptus • Manzer Wedge
25.4" scale • 1 3/4" nut • 2 1/4" string spacing
Red Eucalyptus rosette • Moradora bindings
Southern Cross peghead inlay • Ayers Rock (Uluru) 12th fret
Ebony Peghead, Fretboard, and bridge
Gotoh M6 tuners with Ebony buttons
TKL case • Lifetime Warranty
Built for light gauge strings

Thanks again for taking the time to look. Feel free to ask any questions.

Here's some soundclips of the instrument with a simple mic and no EQ modification.

And here's a iPhone video from about 5 rows back of Mark Hanson playing it a GAL. It's not a high quality video, but you can get an idea.

Thanks for checking it out.

I would like to throw in an unsolicited plug for this guitar. I have two Kinnaird guitars built in combo with Steve Kinnaird and Ryan Middlebrook. I can not recommend their guitars more. The workmanship is simply beyond reproach and the sound is amazing, I mean if you like clear crisp trebles and articulate mids with a bass to lead the way....If you don't like that, well go look elsewhere haha.

The Kinnaird deep bodied OM is the perfect guitar shape I believe as well...

Buy with confidence whomever is lucky enough to grab this guitar.

Sounds beautiful. Someone is going to get a wonderful guitar. I'd give Ryan and Kinnaird guitars my highest recommendation. I used Ryan's guitar exclusively on my Home Texas recording and have used it on other recordings as well.

Todd, Tom, JR, Steve,
Thanks so much for your kind testimonials. Let me return at least one favor by highly recommending JR's music if you haven't heard it. His Home Texas album I love to put on when I just need to chill for a while. His other albums are fun and inventive. Check them out.

Tom and Steve both have OMs of their own from our shop, so dear buyer, take a little confidence in that. Todd, thanks for your contribution to the project. Should we work out some recording endorsement deal?

Thanks everyone for taking the time to look.

I might take this to the Woodstock show in October, but I want the AGF to have first crack at it since it was designed here by members.

I think you'll get more action on regilar classified ads here on AGF.

You're probably right, the classifieds get way more traffic than the Marketplace. However AGF rules state that new guitars must be sold on this subforum by sponsors. Only used guitars can be sold in the Classifieds. In fact, I've tried posting before in the Classifieds for a personal instrument, but I don't have permission to on my account. It's alright though, I'm sure this one will move. It's a killer guitar.

Ryan, as much as I hope you sell this guitar soon, I am secretly hoping it makes it to Woodstock so I get a chance to play it myself and who knows what happens then????

Default Middle of the brook

For the life of me, I do not see the price. Does that mean it's free? Hope to see it at Woodstock.
