This is so, so, so good on so many levels.

Agree! Looking forward to seeing them at Passim, our local folk club hereabouts, this Tuesday evening.

They're doing another two shows on Wednesday, which is strong testament to their skills and current drawing power: most performers are booked for only one show.

WOW... it just doesn't seem that long ago when I overheard Julian's dad in our local CA guitar store (when Julian was just a young whippersnapper)... talk about how most parents have to struggle to get
their kids to practice, but Julian was the kind of kid that just didn't need any
encouragement to practice at all. When I heard him play, I knew that in the future, this kid was going places!

It is full of Wow and Yay.

I am a part way in - love those old, wonderful guitars. That first 1885 Martin 0-28 was amazing.

I think the biggest point that the average AGF reader should take away from that video is this: It's not the guitar.

Notice that there was no adjustment period, getting the guitar set up the way they wanted, no pocket-pal 64th rules coming out to measure 12th fret action, or string spacing at the blah, blah, blah.

They just picked 'em up, and played 'em.

You can't buy a sound. You have to learn to make it yourself.

Then you can get fussy.

This. Exactly. Well said. I'm going to get back to practicing now.

I caught these two together at their Wintergrass performance (not this workshop) back in February, and it was **** good. About an hour-long performance, and I was about twenty feet from them in a small hotel meeting room with a stage and lots of chairs. Such fluid and musical playing from both. They were having a blast. I thought of selling all my guitars when I walked out, though, I'll tell you that!....
