Default Creative Business Names/Slogans

With things getting a little heavy on the Open Mic forum lately, I thought I'd lighten the mood a bit with some clever business names/slogans that I've either seen over the years* (you can't make this stuff up) - or would like to see^:

Sole Brothers* - shoe repair (NYC)
Doggie Style* - pet grooming (LI, NY)
Knit-Wit* - sewing supplies (Brooklyn, NY - now defunct)
Many Happy Returns* - tax preparers (MD)
Wok-n-Roll* - Chinese restaurant (Brooklyn, NY)
Chili Willie's* - Mexican restaurant (NJ)
Beaver Liquors - package store (Upstate NY)
Legal Grounds* - a coffee shop catering to law school students (PA)
Free Fire Insurance* - posted outside a small-town Baptist church (PA)
Impatiens is a virtue* - observed at a plant nursery (PA)
Firin' Rain^ - lawn sprinkler installation/services
Pick a Winner^ - guitar shop

What's yours...?

Right on, Mr. D ! Things were getting a bit dicey over on the banjo thread!

We have a nudist colony nearby. It's ill-served by any vendor. I'm a pretty decent cook so I thought I'd open them a restaurant called "Naked Lunch"!

I always wanted to open up a Jamacan/Italian eatery and call it "Rasta Pasta".

The Hair salon called "Curl Up and Dye"...I think there is one in every town by now.

We used to go to a seafood place that had the catch phrase: "If it smells like fish eat it!"
I bought the T-shirt.

We used to have a bar called "The Library" in Lexington, KY where I went to college. You could always tell your parents that you were at the library every night this week and not have to lie.

Years ago, a buddy and I had a small company through which we custom built golf clubs by hand. We called the business "Fairway To Heaven."

Yowza.

- as long as it's not followed by the carchphrase from a Wendy's commercial of 30 years ago, "Home of the Big Buns"...

- and while we're at it:

What's Your Beef? - steakhouse (NJ)

There used to be an auto salvage business in the ethnic Greek community of Tarpon Springs, FL called "Oedipus Wrecks" and a marina fishing supply shop called "Master Bait and Tackle" in Bonita Springs.

Not names but a couple slogans I've seen recently. Saw a paving company sign with the slogan " if you don't use us , it's your own asphalt" and a truck for a company that did both roofing and plumbing ( an odd combo I thought) whose slogan was " if water runs through it, we do it"

Actually, I can. In fact, I've been doing it for a living for the past 40-some-odd years. Examples:

Whiz Kits (client Texana Industries, 1976 - urine specimen "catch kits" used by clinics)

Pick Up the Pace (client Pace Picante Sauce, 1977 - used as their slogan for nearly 25 years, until they were sold to Campbell Soup)

C.A.R.S. (created name for client Computerized Automobile Referral Service, 1981 - pre-PC era database service for used car dealers and private sellers: "When you want a car, call CARS," "Calling all CARS" and similar radio/print lines.)

Full House (name for specialty apartment leasing spin-off firm of CIM Realty. c.1985: brochure was a fold-out of a poker hand of 3 aces, 2 kings that read "Full House: It's the deal every apartment owner really wants.")

Big Dipper and Little Dipper (client Pace, c. 1991 - Names for 2 sizes of picante sauce cups for Pace Foodservice to provide to fast food franchises...never used: they went with a single size and the name "Salsa Shooter" instead)

Lots of other examples over the years, including plenty of plays on my own name. When I incorporated my ad concept and copywriting business in 1983, I registered the name Writer Ronk, Inc. Today, when I freelance, I still have that formal business name, but more frequently use a "dba"...RonkStar Concepts. Oh, and my wedding announcement from 1984: "On September 15, One Rite will make Two Ronks."
