Jerry,

I know of no one on the Coast but I've used Todd Mylet at Portland Fretworks for the past 15 years and have been very happy. He reset the neck on my Martin D-42 and has done finish repairs and back repairs on other guitars for me. My Cousin has Kenny Char do work for him and he's very happy. He is in Portland also.

Hi Jerry...

There is also Dennis Berck in the Eugene area. He is quite well known and very well respected in the vintage repair/restoration world...otherwise Kerry Char and Todd Mylet are really terrific in the Portland area.

There's also John Greven himself, also here in the Portland area.

John is not taking on any repairs or restorations currently...and in fact has closed his order book for a while as he catches up on all the back "new" orders.

Yes, Kerry Char at Char Lutheries and Todd Mylet at Portland Fretworks are excellent.

Butch Boswell - not sure if he is taking on repair work as he focuses on building. Worth a try though - Boswell Guitars, 15 NW Franklin, Unit B, Bend, OR 97701. (541) 719-1289.

Butch is outstanding. He has worked on my Merrill, Santa Cruz, and Brondel. Since he left the California Central Coast, I haven’t found another luthier/tech.
