Welcome to AGF. May I suggest to keep your chin back from the keyboard when drooling?

Yes the old finger strengthening and playing wider boxes.
I still do the 1 11/16" mayhem but the satisfaction of an acoustic is unparalleled.

So glad you are here and please let us know how your technique transfers over and any new genres or musical journeys you find yourself in.

Welcome to The Forum. I always thought of the acoustic guitar as a way to simplify my life but the reality is I found you can spend a whole lot more on acoustic guitars and related things than I ever could on electric gear.

If you want to keep things reasonably affordable stay out of the custom shop section and just don't know any better

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
I’m looking forward to looking and listening to everyone’s posts, stories, creations ..... and the biggest fibs yo wives about how much money you all REALLY spent on guitars

Haha, yes - that could be one deep, yet alluring abyss.
I’m in Australia, so we pretty much get shafted on everything here.
I’ve got a pile of Music Man guitars (mainly Petruccis), all sources direct from be US to avoid the Aussie Rip off.
This might be less feasible with acoustics.

Yes, weak technique is exposed pretty quick on acoustics, particularly nylon strings.
Luckily I maintained a fair bit of my finger-style dexterity, as I kept up to scratch with some Knopfler and classical style playing.

I’m really keen to explore the open / alternative tunings and am currently learning Cim Frode’s “Tides” piece.

Here’s an OLD finger-style vid of my playing, and also a couple of other shreddy vids

Welcome to the group, great bunch of people here, and a lot of them can actually play the guitar (I'm not one of them). To address the GAS issue, have a look at the guitars for sale sub forum (just kidding)
