Nowhere near my favourite Van song. But audiences love it and that's why we get paid

Among Morrison's popular songs, I am tired of "Brown-Eyed Girl", but I still quite like "Moondance" and REALLY like "Into The Mystic". I also like when he plays the sax.

I bought Van's first solo LP "Blowin' Your Mind" when it came out in '67... I was only 17 at the time, but even then, I thought it was a masterpiece from the first listen... And although I loved the breezy Pop Rock feel of "Brown Eyed Girl", the bluesy stuff was what made me wear the grooves out of the record... "TB Sheets" gave me chills when I first heard it, and it still has the same effect even now... Van was the Man, from the get go... |

Tupelo Honey is my favorite. But I like Brown Eyed Girl. I'd call it 60's folk/rock myself.

Another vote for "60's Pop".
Nice song. I like it. I enjoy hearing and playing it but it doesn't matter if it's Buffett or Van Morrison's original, it sure isn't Americana nor Beach Music. |

I'd call it Brit pop.

To quote the philosopher Billy Joel: "It's still rock 'n roll to me."
Although, when I sing it to my wife, it is: You're my... blue-eyed girl! I even sing it that way when I play out, with the explanation... people still sing along, especially on the sha la la la la la... |

60s British pop rock.
Some of us hate it. Audiences love it and tend to get up and dance to it. Plenty of artists have covered it and Jimmy Buffett seems to have made it his own.
