David Russell plays Antonio Lauro- 1980 disc
I think this is superb playing, and the combination of clear articulation, sweet tone, and musicality make it a standout. Some of the tempos are rapid, like
my favorite 'Natalia', but Russell has the tools to make it work. He plays on a clear-sounding a spruce John Gilbert guitar, but the recording is not the best: rather muffled and rolled-off, but the ear adjusts quickly. The disc is OOP at the moment, but I'll bet it will be back in print fairly soon. https://www.amazon.com/David-Russell...6SK/ref=sr_1_1 Here's a YT link that's said to be the whole album (I have not opened the link):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr58qxStkrU
