Default Life As A Soldier by KEKO

Checkout a new song I wrote called Life As A Soldier, a story about a soldier who goes off to war and what he finds when he gets back. It is about being proud of the sacrifices our soldiers make for all of us.

https://soundcloud.com/kekoacoustic/...a-soldier-keko

It is a song on my record you can find on iTunes:

My oldest daughter did 2 tours in the Middle East, she made Captain and is now back home with her two girls. Her wonderful husband, also a Captain ( Army) comes back in the fall from Europe. They are patriot, high achieving folks who don't complain. In this case, they have lots of job-related lingo and experiences and are just a super team, so thanks to the Army for that, but it is hard to see the kids missing their dad. Thanks for the song...well done and thoughtful.

Yes I wrote it and sang it. Great studio musicians.....the guitar player, bass player and drummer for the band Little Big Town. Working with real pros make all the difference in the world.

Thank you... I have known lots of folks who have served and lots of challenges to the families for sure... very often soldiers come back and they have changed and their families have moved on. Tragic really

Thanks buddy... I think my songwriting was much stronger on this record and the overall diversity and production was no doubt elevated over my 5 song EP.

Well played and rendered but the intent of the message is diminished on such a wholesomely vanilla (light-hearted) melody. That's a soldier's opinion. The conviction is missing by virtue of the chosen melody. The lyric is fine. It's a difficult task to render both a message and melody with the conviction such a theme asks of a homesoil writer. This topic is rarely successful in a song to a blooded audience. To another audience it will fair better. Again, well played and rendered.

Well thanks for your perspective. It is well received when I play it out. It was not really intended as an aggressive or angry song, but more of a story. To each his own I suppose
