Default Older Alaska Picks

I'd forgotten about these. The first Alaska picks were clear. Hard to find if you dropped them and that may be why they discontinued them and went to the flesh colored plastics. The thing is, the plastics used for the different colors are different.

The flesh colored, current ones, do sound an awful lot like my own nails. Sometimes, though, they, like my own nails, sound too 'mellow'.

The old clear ones were a harder, more rigid plastic and had a crisper sound.

Wish they still made them

Try Dunlop Ultex. Clear, hard plastic. They make a nice crisp sound when you drop them on a hard surface.

Alaska picks are finger picks. Dunlop makes Ultex fingerpicks? I searched and couldn't find any.

I think you are correct. They make a thumb pick...but no finger pick. Crazy.

The "cool" thing about Alaska picks is they imitate your fingernails. They seems to have a prprietary interest in that style
