Doesn't help me at all...

As a matter of fact, the thought of hacking a hole to put this in the side of my Goodall makes me more than a bit nauseous!

sure but its not a bad option for a guy who has an older guitar that has an nonfunctional on-board system already installed...

I understand some people don't want to cut a barndoor, but others may actually think onboard system is more convenient to use. I wouldn't do it on my expensive Martin, but if I ever want a dedicated stage guitar I'll install an onboard system in a heart beat.

This product doesn't pose a question: "Do I cut a barndoor in my guitar or not"?

It provides an answer: "Yes, barndoors are a useful performance option that are very clearly being supported by Fishman, Baggs, Yamaha, and Takamine for the long term with upgrades that include their very best electronics."

I don't like the barn-door approach and, for me, it is out of the question but recognizing its practicality, I couldn't possibly regard someone who opts for their utility as being indolent.

Is Doyle Dykes lazy because he specified an L.R. Baggs barn-door system for his signature guitar?

If you have, say... a 2002 655ce with a factory Fishman Stereo Blender and wanted to retrofit this, it's a good option.
