Default Pre-Owned Franklin OM, German Spruce, Brazilian Rosewood at AMW!

(JUST ARRIVED, USED) You know we are privileged to “handle” many fine guitars every year. It’s a tough job, but it has to be done.

We recently received this guitar, and were going to hold it back and spring it on you during our January BRRRRzzzilian promotion, but we could not wait.

Kid in a candy-shop Alert:

Let me be blunt: We’ve handled thousands of great guitars over the years, some that we remember and miss to this day. But, as Orchestra Models go, we have NEVER heard or played a finer Brazilian rosewood OM. Now let me be specific – this is a Brazilian Rosewood OM with European (German Spruce) top and is set up light and low for a finger style player or a strummer who desires a very complex and responsive guitar for vocal accompaniment. We cannot imagine a finer guitar for that purpose. Let me say that again: As Brazilian rosewood guitars go, granted each guitar has specific strengths, we have not heard a finer example.

It plays like butter and it just sings.

We’ve been able to compare it to Brazilian varnish Collings and vintage 30’s Martins, Brazilian Goodall, Bourgeois, Merrill, Tippin, Santa Cruz, and a dozen others. These are all fine guitars, but none of them capture the dry sweetness that says “vintage” in a newer guitar like this Franklin does. This custom Franklin leaves us convinced that it will haunt us for the rest of our days.

So… feast your eyes on this very special custom one-of-a-kind (2008) Franklin OM with stellar GERMAN spruce with incredible exotic two-tone Brazilian 1 and 11/16″ nut, 1.5″ string spacing, 2 5/16″ saddle, beautifully exotic ebony headstock veneer, custom inlay and rosette, curly maple binding and no fretboard dots. Franklin Guitars are built by Nick Kukich of Rocheport, Missouri. The list of players who own Franklin guitars is long and distinguished: Jon Renbourn, Stefan Grossman, El McMeen….you get the picture…..
The sound is to-die-for.

For those of you who have asked “to be called when something very special arrives“, consider yourself called. We cannot say enough about this guitar, but feel we’ve said enough. Folks often ask “what is the best guitar in the shop right now?” and with between 400 and 450 in stock, I generally dismiss the question and say “we have many fine guitars right now”, but in all honesty….this may be the best guitar in the shop right now….

SN #607 (2008) with Calton case.

Pre-Owned, ON CONSIGNMENT (No trades, PLEASE!!)
AMW Price: $12,500
