Hi Kayakman,

Be sure you play one before trading away your gorgeous Campellone. They are completely different in feel and sound - just make sure that it is really what you want before you part with your beauty and then regret it!

Guitar Center has an early 30's 16" L-7 like you're looking for. They list it as a '34, but they don't always have their specs right. You can call and get a serial number to confirm. To see it, go to their main website and search "Gibson L-7" and it will pop up. $2,699, if I recall correctly, and I've found GC is usually pretty willing to wheel and deal.

Good luck!

The one at Guitar Center is gone? That's too bad. Here are a few more leads:

Just a thought, you may want to include L-4's in your search. There are some years where the L-4's were 16" archtops with F holes. I've seen some that are exactly the same as the 32/33/34 L-7's. I have no idea why they called them different models.

Archtop.com currently has two 16" L-4's.

There's an interesting one on ebay here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Leftie-1934-...item35d550f1b7

It's set up for left hand playing, but has the fret marker dots on the side of the neck that would seem to indicate that it was originally meant for right hand playing. Remove the finger rest and replace the bridge and nut with right-hand versions and this would be a great guitar.
